Roadside Assistance; AAA, Chrysler And Onstar System

By: Lance Winslow

When buying a vehicle be sure to ask the dealer if it comes with roadside assistance. Many new vehicles come with really great programs like OnStar System Satellite Service or a Roadside Assistance Program. Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda, Nissan all have similar programs available and sometimes you won't be offered unless you ask.

With your vehicle purchase, you should negotiate for a free roadside assistance card from your dealership. If you are buying a Chrysler product it may come with your purchase automatically. Chrysler gives out a roadside assistant card to truck buyers and to passenger car buyers only ours is for one full year. Also, it’s rare, but even if you buy Chrysler products at a fleet rate for company or commercial vehicles, you maybe able to negotiate this contract, especially if you have large monthly vehicle purchase volume. This plan includes: Lock-Out Assistance; Jump Starts; Gas Run-Outs; Ten Mile Free Towing. Any one of these services could save you $50 to $200.00

If you are unable to get a free roadside assistance card you should look into American Automobile Club or AAA membership. You might also look start AAA membership to commence following the end of the one-year Chrysler Club card. If you have ever been stranded on the side of the road even once you will understand the value of these services. Drive safely and think about it.
