When your car needs work done, find a reputable service station, and don't let the mechanic intimidate you into paying for repairs that you don't need. An easy way to avoid high maintenance costs later on is to have someone who knows automotive mechanics take a look at your new used car, before you buy it. If the seller objects to this, it is probably because the car needs work or has problems that were not disclosed to you.
