Things that they can enjoy quietly, securely buckled in their seats. So that the driver will not be distracted, and the trip will not end in an accident.

Also, pack a small cooler just for the kids with healthy snacks, and juices, and bottled water. It will greatly reduce the unplanned stops for fast food that kids are guaranteed to demand along the way.
