There are more and more successful cases that parents are choosing home schooling rather than main stream schools. How to weigh the benefits of home schooling? It is only when your child succeed later in his or her life. His achievements would be attributed to your hard work.

What Is Home Schooling?

With so much debate and controversies on the pretext of home schooling on whether the child is benefitting from this type of education. Having said that, home schooling is legal in the US, with issues currently debating and some are thinking of banning this procedure if there are evidence that the children do not benefit from such an education.

What are the reasons that parents are turning away from traditional education to homeschooling?

Parents refuse send their children if they are mentally or physical disabilities as most of them cannot attend normal school. Also they are not willing to put them into special designated schools. Parents like to idea of have close supervision on what their child is studying as they can see how they fared on their studies. The safety of their children are not compromise most of the times. It is more convenient for most single parent who works at home on monitoring their child's education closely.

The one greatest benefit of home schooling, that every parent will acknowledge, that is the achievements of one's child, it is when you know that all your efforts and guidance have finally paid off. Besides the achievements of the child as one of the benefits, there are also other benefits worth highlighting.

Some parents will lose some bonding with their children if they were to send away to school. The teaching and leaning experience with your child every day. You will directly praise or blame your kids due to the results they delivered.

It is worth the effort and trouble to get the benefits of home schooling, but not forgetting there are also some disadvantages to take note as well:

Social skills of the child would be lost if he or she is being homeschooled. This will affects his interaction skills when he grows up. Some parents are reacting too strict or simple too lenient when they are guiding their little ones. Some parents are not knowledgeable in their areas of their subject.

For parents that have chosen home schooling for their kids, will have to try their best and look forward to reap the benefits of home schooling as their goal. However, for some who are comtemplating the idea of homeschooling, please be sure to look at other perspectives before making the choice. With high hopes on the benefits of home schooling, may turn out otherwise leaving you and your child some emotional tension.
