Choosing The Right Massage Therapy Products

Kerris Samson

The number of massage therapy products in the marketplace can be a little overwhelming, especially if you happen to be a new massage therapist. Because of all the different brands and stores, it may take you a while to sort through them all. Below we offer you some advice to help you in finding the right ones.

Massage Tables - The first thing that you need to do before you actually buy your table is decide what kind of business it is you are going to be running. Are you just going to be based in one location where your clients visit you or will you be offering them a service where you go to them (mobile).

You may even be someone that actually offers both facilities to clients. Then you need to get a massage table that is not only durable (strong) but is comfortable. Plus if you are going to be mobile then you need one that can be easily transported.

Linens - Along with a good quality, massage table you will also need pads for it, sheets, blankets, towels and of course face cradle covers. The linens that you select should be of a good quality as they will be under constant strain, wear and tear when being used. Also look for materials that feel comfortable against your client's skin, otherwise they will find it difficult to relax. If not then getting the full benefits of a massage, session will be greatly reduced.

Although there are disposable face cradle covers one can use but these should be avoided at all costs. Again you want your clients to be comfortable and the material from which these are made prevents this from happening. If however you do not have the funds to purchase good quality covers initially then make sure that you purchase one or two each time you place an order for other massage therapy products that you need.

Lotions, Oils and Creams - These are products which are essential to your massage therapy business and will need to be replaced on a regular basis. To save yourself money buy all the base products (unscented) in bulk and then over time build up a selection of essential oils to use with them.

This means that you can also provide more personalized service to your massage clients as they will be able to choose the essential oils that they like the most, and which is going to help them relax even more. Then as you begin to discover a particular client's likes and dislikes you can begin to suggest new scents or scent combinations that they may want to try.

Just by selecting the right kinds of good quality massage therapy products, this can help you towards having a much more successful massage therapy business. So take your time and do your homework before you make any purchases.
