Suffered personal Injury? These steps might save your case.

Richard Skinnar,

a. See your Doctor: Do not hesitate to see your Doctor if you are injured. Be open and honest with your Doctor about your condition especially with respect to the location and intensity of the pain. Do not make any false statements to your Doctor about previous injuries. However, if you cannot remember the answers to the questions your Doctor is asking do not be afraid to say that you do not remember. Do not guess and give potentially false information. Follow your doctor's advice.

b. Do not speak to anyone regarding your injury: This general rule holds true with limited exceptions. You may speak with your Attorney and your Doctor. But otherwise, do not make any statements to anyone, whether in writing, over the phone, or in person without your Attorney's consent.

c. Visit http://www.personalinjuryresourcecenter.com to locate an attorney near you. Your lawyer will then be able to advise you regarding the proper next steps to take.

d. Make no admissions of fault: As mentioned above, speak to no one save your attorney or doctor regarding your injury. Statements to others may be interpreted to be admissions of fault.

e. Take Pictures: Of any damage to your property if applicable. If your vehicle is smashed in an auto accident, use good quality film and take at least 30 pictures.

f. Keep Evidence of Injury: Save all medication containers, arm and leg braces, casts, and any other medical equipment prescribed by your Doctor.

g. Scene of the Accident: Deliver all photos, videos, and/or notes regarding the accident scene that you have or have gathered from witnesses to your attorney.

h. Gather Receipts: Obtain all of your receipt or get all of them which itemize your expenses that you incurred as a result of your injuries. Ensure that the receipts are readable and contain all relevant provider or vendor information.

i. Additional Information: Speak with your attorney and tell him or her anything and everything you think may have importance to your case. Especially relevant is extensive hospitalization or medical treatment.
