Logically speaking, what you put in your body will either benefit it or adversely affect it.

Did you know that the skin is actually an organ? It's the largest organ of your body, and apart from protecting your insides, it also helps eliminate waste. Is it really any wonder that the more waste there is to deal with, the worse your skin will look? If you eat a lot of unhealthy foods, it will show one way or another.

Let's explore how and why acne and diet are connected. You may come away with some good tips on how to treat your acne problem just by making diet changes.

Although there are lots of acne treatments for sale, they are only superficial remedies. These products treat acne, but they don't treat your body; they don't treat the problem that's causing your body to break out.

Eating more fruits and vegetables and avoiding processed foods is one of the best acne remedies. Your skin is always producing oil, but when you eat the wrong kind of foods, your body generates even more oils.

Dirty colons are linked to acne problems and other skin conditions. In other words, if you eat enough foods that aren't easily broken down by your digestive tract, the result will be skin problems such as acne. Acne and diet are tightly linked.

These 'stuck' foods turn into toxins, and some of those toxins are released through the skin. When you eat fiber-rich foods like fruit, vegetables, and whole grains, your digestive tract will thank you and so will the rest of your body, including your skin.

If you consume a lot of fried foods, tea, coffee, animal products, microwave food, alcohol, painkillers, white flour, and hydrogenated fats, you probably have a lot of mucoid plaque in your body right now.

This type of plaque, along with other types of bacteria, feast on old feces in your system.

Another common culprit is called candida. This little bug eats off of the sugars in your food and gives off toxic chemicals that cause allergic reactions and skin problems.

Try making psyllium a part of your diet. It's very rich in fiber. You can likely find it in a health food store, or even in a local grocery store. You don't have to do much with it: Just mix a tablespoon in a glass of water and drink up.

This food is one of the common ingredients in laxative drinks. This food will keep you regular and will do a fabulous job of cleaning out any bacteria.

There are plenty of other foods that can help you conquer your acne. So, acne and diet are very much related.
