Dallas Texas is the absolute most visited vacation spot in all of Texas. While here, vacationers enjoy an unparalleled variety of cuisine, nightlife, theme parks, museums, shows, and hundreds more wonderful getaway activities and attractions, but none can even come close to comparing to the fun to be had at White Rock Lake.
This massive inland sea-like body of water is one of Dallas Texas most prominent vacation attractions. This pristine area started out as being a favorite living spot for local Native Americans in the early 1700's. Since those days of old there have been many historical events held in and around the White Rock Lake Park. One doesn't have to wonder why as you stand upon the shores and look out over the pristine green tinted waters reflecting the suns rays like a mirror. It is a place of peace, serenity, and no small amount of inspiration.
Today, there are endless hours of fun to be had at the White Rock Lake Park. For those who like a good walk, bring your hiking shoes and cane, as there are almost ten miles of ongoing hiking trials at the lakes edge and in the surrounding forest area. These are also good for bicycling. If you have a good sense of direction, you could also hike directly into the forest and enjoy a day of beautiful Texas countryside scenery.
The real fun to be had at White Rock Lake Park, however, is on the lake itself. All the local anglers will tell you that the fishing to be had here is comparable to nowhere else. You can either shore fish or rent a boat from one of the many lakeshore docks. Do not worry about bait, as the area is literally covered in dozens of small bait shops as well as large ones, with your preferred bait of choice.
There is more fun to be had on boats than merely fishing. What vacationer that enjoys a good watery getaway has not dreamed of sailing across the waves into the sunset? You can have your chance here. Sailing is one of the local favorite pastimes on White Rock Lake. Renting a sailboat is just as easy as renting a fishing boat, and some businesses will actually send people that are knowledgeable in the art of sailing to teach you the ins and outs of this awesome water sport.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of all the great fun times there are to be had here. There is horseback riding, water skiing, swimming, and the ever popular just laying on the beach and soaking up the balmy Texas breeze. There is also a wide variety of local wildlife to see in the nearby Park Forest. The animals here are quite used to the presence of humans, so they don't tend to run off the minute that you stumble upon them. If there is any hint of an outdoors person in you at all, then you will find your place in the sun on the shores of White Rock Lake in Dallas Texas.
