Homeopathy for Everyone
Amy Cantwell
Homeopathy is basically an alternative therapy where people take fluids which bring on the effects of whatever disease they wish to cure. These fluids then cancel out the disease. It works on the basis that the fluids need to be vigorously shaken, the reason for this is that the shaking removes any bad or "evil" elements in the fluids. Generally these fluids are made up of sugar, water and alcohol but also contain one or several other ingredients.
There are many followers of homeopathy despite the fact that homeopathy has its fair share of critics. People all over the World will have heard of homeopathy, even if they know nothing or little about it. About 15% of people are though to practice homeopathy in the US and Europe alone. There have been numerous studies carried out which have shown that homeopathy does not cause harm to patients. This could be due to the fact that the fluids are diluted a lot.
Keep in mind the following when using Homeopathy:
Any homeopathy treatment recommended will be as a result of a homeopathy expert doing detailed analysis of his or her patient. Both the emotional and physical wellbeing of the patient is looked at when coming up with a suitable treatment recommendation.
Homeopathy has not yet been back up by the scientific community despite a lot of studies which have been carried out. But regardless of this, there are a lot of homeopathy followers who have come forward and tell of the great results they have had with this holistic therapy.
Where did Homeopathy originate?
This form of alternative medicine was initially conceived by Samuel Hahnemann during the 1800's. Hahnemann was inspired by the law of similars when he ingested herbal medicine supposed to cure malaria and instead found that he suffered from symptoms of malaria. This began his painstaking labors in homeopathy by testing the various alternative herbal medicines for many different ailments and diseases.
The concept of diluting the herbs and other forms of alternative medicines was to minimize the effects which can be compared to vaccination where the weakened form of the disease or sickness is injected into a person to promote immunity.
Homeopathy may be as widely practiced as other forms of alternative medicine but those who practice it are convinced of its capacity to treat ailments. There may be some grain of truth in it since it has been around for decades.
