Water Filters Are Essential Kitchen Appliances

Water is vital to our wellbeing and without it we simply would not survive. The main component of our body is water with the liver being about 90% water and our brain about 74%. It is often stated that we do not drink enough water as the body needs around 64 fl oz or more to function correctly and much depends on how active we are. The water we drink should be free from organic matter found in many water supplies around the world. In most places all drinking water is drawn from it's source and passed through a series of massive water filters before being pumped into the homes for our use.
Although most of the planet is covered in water there are also desert or arid places where there is hardly any water. People living in such places are far too often forced to drink poor quality water because of the scarcity of water and the lack of water filters. Many of the world's charities have, for decades, been working to supply the technology to give these areas adequate fresh clean water supplies.
In modern western societies there are often a great many rules and regulations governing the quality of the water supplies to residential homes. Such rules stipulate exactly what levels of certain substances should be considered safe. In many communities it is common to find trace elements of dangerous chemicals and even chemicals which have been added. In such places water filters are commonly used to remove all of these substances.
Aluminum is an incredibly dangerous substance which is highly poisonous if ingested. However it is extremely common to find aluminum in drinking water supplies but only in very minute traces. Unfortunately there was a case in Cornwall, England where there was a mistake made in the water treatment plant which led to too much aluminum being added to the water. The water was declared unsafe to drink for some time until it had cleared through the system but many believe that it caused physical harm to many.
Fluoride is another chemical, found in water supplies, which is known to be poisonous. Strangely, if you read the back of many toothpastes on the market today you will notice the warnings against consumption of it, even in the smallest amounts. Even though it is added to water to help fight tooth decay what real evidence exists that supports this claim?
With so many dangerous substances either in the water or added to it, is it any wonder that water filters are now used extensively around the globe. Even where the water supply is considered very safe many people just do not want to take any risks in the slightest so they buy a water filter if only for their drinking water.
Of course there is a massive selection to choose from if you are in search of a water filter. Available in different sizes and, of course, different prices, there is a type of water filter available for virtually any need. Sizes range from the very small which filer a few cups of water, to the large systems installed to filter all of the household water. Even larger systems are available but usually for industrial installations.
There are many advantages to using water filters but the one I enjoy most, and the reason why I will always use them, is that water now tastes great. Water should be refreshing but often our tap water tastes awful. By using a water filter you will notice a vast improvement that you will quickly become accustomed to. After only a few weeks a direct comparison between your filtered water and your plain tap water may actually make you feel ill, it does me! Of course this improved flavor is carried across to all hot and cold drinks made using filtered water. In blind tests I immediately spot the difference and could no longer live without my water filter.
