In today's world it is no longer necessary to be working 40+ hours a week to just get by and struggle to pay the monthly bills. Many people are turning to the world of home businesses to change this scenario. There is a vast amount of home businesses to choose from and if you are willing to do some due diligence, the possibilities are almost endless. There are several qualities of a home business which may attract a person to become involved with one. After reading about some of these you too may be attracted to a home business.

Our children are such an important aspect of our lives and running a business from home allows a great deal of people to care for their children themselves. The cost of having someone else watch the children along with other issues regarding child care are no longer an issue. The parents can earn their living to provide for the family, while at the same time provide a true home for the children
2. Hours In The Car Dealing With Traffic
Any home business owner will tell you that it is a joy to not have to deal with a commute any longer. If you are working from home you are not in as much of a bind if something does go wrong with a vehicle since it is usually not needed for day to day business tasks. The lack of travel also saves time and money. Instead of giving your hard earned money to the fuel companies, you can put that money back into the business (or go have a nice dinner)
3. Tax Benefits
Self-employed individuals are able to receive tax deductions each year on their income tax returns that people who are employed by a company cannot. There are many deductions which fall into this category and often yield a good amount of return money for the business owner who claims them.
4. You are Your Own Boss
Not having to deal with a boss is something that would probably please most people. Having supervisors always looking over your shoulder and scrutinize your every move will easily add a great amount of unneeded stress to one's life. When you are in the position of being your own boss, your day to day schedule is in your control. This means that when your son or daughter has a game or recital, you can schedule your work around it and you don't need permission.
5. Overhead Expenses Reduced
Working from home also allows for the reduction or even the elimination of some overhead expenses. There is no longer a need to hire an office staff or pay rent for an office. Other additional utility expenses such as heating, electric and phone are also eliminated or at the very least reduced. Another often costly but sometimes overlooked expense is the cost of furnishing the office. Again, this is eliminated with most home businesses. As you can see, this can prove to be beneficial over time.
Although working from home does require a good amount of time and effort (it is still work), the positives that can and usually do arise from it really have the ability to improve the quality of life in many ways.
