A Journey of Discovery in Houston Texas

To attempt to sum up the entire concept of a vacation into one word would be difficult, at best. However, there is one word that comes closer to any other, and that word is "discovery." Since the dawn of mankind there has been no larger driving force in the hearts and souls of the human race than that of discovery. In the early days, we pushed onward to discover fire. Then, we pushed on to discover new lands and countries. Inevitably, we turned our eyes to the sky and yearned to discover faraway planets. Discovery is the ultimate driving force of the human race.

This is also the reason behind vacations. Though largely advertised and promoted as opportunities to rest and relax, the real reason for the vacation is to discover that which we have yet to see. Think about it. You can rest and relax at home. Yet nothing seems to get you more excited then the prospect of journeying to some faraway land where you can discover a totally new environment. With the concept of the discovery as the driving force, the massive vacation hotspot of Houston Texas contemplated and eventually created the Houston Museum of Natural Science. At this massive complex, discovery is the overall theme.

There are so many new and exciting discoveries to be found here for the entire family, children and adults alike. Even the grown-ups will walk away armed with new knowledge that they never had before. Take, for example, the Cockrell Butterfly Center exhibit. Here you will be thrust into the world of one of nature's most extravagant attempts at art, the Butterfly. There are almost one hundred different types of these beautiful works of natural art to be seen here, of every conceivable color known to man. While here you will go beyond merely getting to see these lovely creatures, but you will also learn a lot about them.

On the subject of wildlife, during your visit to the Houston Museum of Natural Science you will also find yourself walking through the Texas Wildlife area. Here you will find some frighteningly realistic replicas of the various forms of outdoor life that can be found throughout the great State of Texas. There are Alligators, Mountain Lions, Bobcats, and even the famed armadillos. There are also plants here that are native to the Texas region.

As you move throughout the Museum, you will go through one fascinating exhibition of discovery after another, such as the Gem Vault, the Discovery Place, the African Wildlife Exhibit, the Gems and Minerals Exhibit, the Paleontology Exhibit, the Space Science attraction, the Chemistry Exhibit, and so many more. These are only the permanent exhibits of the museum. There are always new and exciting discovery exhibits coming and going throughout the year.

Feed that spirit of the adventurer that yearns for discovery that is hidden within you on this year's vacation getaway. Prepare for the adventure of a lifetime and head to the Houston Museum of natural Science in Houston Texas.
