How to Get a First Rate Leadership Education

When children receive leadership education, they are taught how to think and how to be leaders. They learn to lead at home, in their community, in business, and in government.

This is the sort of education that most parents would like for their children. I know I want my children to be innovative thinkers.

When you look through history, you'll find that most of the world's greatest thinkers and leaders received their education from tutors and mentors at home.

As they progressed through their education, they would advance to prep schools and review the classics, continuing the mentor approach.

The best leaders were made through the mentoring system. Unfortunately, the leaders most Americans think of are usually trained to be specialists or professionals. They weren't trained for true leadership.

The majority of our nation is made up of followers who don't seem to have any problems with the current system. If the next generation is going to overcome this problem, we must teach them how to be the leaders that will make a difference in our world.

There are four important components in leadership education: Mentors, time, and classics.

Students need enough time to learn, and that means they need structure. For example, an older student may need at least 5 hours of learning a day for 5 days a week.

This will allow enough time for your child to read and study. Younger students will not need so much time.

Mentors and Classics. We won't separate these two factors of leadership education because learning how to think well is attained through discussion of the classics.

When the student is reading, it is just as essential for the mentor to read it. Ideally, the student and the teacher alike should write down key ideas in a reading journal.

Perhaps you decide to spend the first hour on a math lesson, then spend some time free reading, experimenting, and studying. The final hour can be about writing or having a discussion with the mentor.

For centuries, this type of learning has been the means for acquiring knowledge and skills needed for leaders.

Leadership education encourages you to find a mentor your children can read the classics with. Most of us can probably say that we are familiar with history and literature classics, but there are classics that pertain to all subjects.

Even math and science has classics, such as Newton's Principia Mathematics. No, you don't have to start your child on this book, but when it's time for a good classic in mathematics, it's worth trying.

If you want your child to think logically and clearly, leadership education will provide the foundation. If you plan to mentor your child, you must be certain that you are a great thinker and learner yourself.

Unleash the power of Leadership Education and join the Raise a Leader Revolution. Your child can be a True Leader.
