When one is contemplating the details of their vacation getaway, the shopping end of the concept is always the last thing on the list to be researched, if it ever gets researched at all. This is a shame, as shopping is one of the highlights of any vacation. There's nothing quite as exciting as going into gift shops and shopping centers that you have never set foot in before, looking through the completely different style of clothing than you have access to back home, and just generally shop hopping. Jacksonville Florida is one fine outlet for a good shopping experience. The town has a large number of great malls and outlet stores. However, if you really don't feel like running all over the city shopping, you can find an entire day worth at the St. John's Town Center. This lovely mall area provides over one million feet of shopping experiences for you, with over forty different stores and shops to wander through. Put on your walking shoes as you may just end up spending the day.
There are so many shops to visit that you will hard pressed to decide where to go first. One of the more popular places, however, is the Anthropologie shop. This quaint little shop is one of culture and style, as the merchandise is all rare items that have been sought out by the shop buyers in foreign countries such as India, Europe and the Far East. There are antiquities and modern day gifts as well as reproductions of fine art. The shops don't end there. You can sit and read a book at the Barnes & Noble while you sip a nice Cappuccino from the in-store coffee shop, check out the Cheesecake Factory for some tasty treats and send your husband down to Dick's Sporting Goods to keep him occupied for a bit. There is literally a shop here for everyone!
If you happen to start feeling a little on the famished side, as most do after a day of traversing the many shops at St. Johns, stop in at the P.F. Chang's Chinese restaurant for a little energy boost with a bite to eat. This is a very lavish style restaurant, not like anything one would expect in a mall. The service is excellent and the food is crafted at your table! You get fine cuisine and entertainment all from your seat. Be sure and try one of the many fine wines served here also.
The St. Johns Town Center Mall in Jacksonville Florida is considered by many to be the ultimate shoppers vacation experience. There are shops there that are oriented towards men, women and children of all ages. The next time you're in Jacksonville, stop in at this major shopping extravaganza. You will be glad that you did!
