Business Start-Ups ... Genuine or Phony?

Kristopher Hooper

For All Home Based Business Start- Ups, Know These Four Crucial Things To Look For.

There are no doubt countless business opportunities all over the internet promising the moon and stars if you let them help you set up an internet home based business(for a certain amount of money of course). It can be down right frustrating knowing which ones are the legitimate opportunities to take on or which ones to steer far away from. You must know what to look for when deciding which one to get involved with.

Understand that not all of the people with their opportunities that make these tantalizing claims of success are out to take your money, but there are four things that most of these companies have in common: You must know these when deciding what to take on.

1. Huge upfront investment

2. The chance to make big money with little work

3. Do not clearly state what you will be selling

4. Available contact information lacking

It is not uncommon for businesses to want money to become a representative for their business, but you must consider the amount needed from you to be able to start selling their product(s) or service(s) if you decide to go with them.

The training may focus on how to recruit others into the business, offering to pay a "bounty" for bringing in new people. A company that focuses on bringing in more people instead of selling their product may be on the border of being illegal.

If the pitch is consisting of huge paydays with very little work on your side, most of the time they are lying because there is no such thing as a free lunch in the business world. Do not fall for these pie in the ski promises. If you do, the only pie you're going to be having is a nasty pity pie.

If you have been reading an online based business opportunity for several minutes and have no idea about the product or service you are being asked to sell, it could be an indication of a scam. Many keep it a secret until you have spent your money and find out there is no way you can sell this to others with a clear conscious. Know what the product is, and how much it will cost, before considering the offer any further.

Look for contact information. If the only means of contacting the company is through an email address, it could be they don't plan to be around long enough to answer any questions or complaints. Money back guarantees are also only about as good as the contact information. Email addresses and post office boxes are not good contacts.
