Phobia is about fear of a certain event. Fear can be so intense that one suffers anxiety because of it. With anxiety they feel that sense of dread and/or panic that causes them to suffer from a variety of physical discomforts including trembling, nausea, difficulty breathing, and a variety of other feelings. People suffering from anxiety phobia disorders tend to feel an impending feeling of doom that holds them back from further facing their fear.

Fear is not that uncommon. Your body triggers a response by creating hormones, this will result in raised heart and blood pressure. Respirations increase and senses are heightened and your blood will be rerouted from the stomach and organs to the limbs.

We call it a phobia when a fear is consistent and restricts a person from doing something. Specific phobias and social phobias are two specific types of anxiety phobia disorders.

Life experiences and biological factors can result in a particular anxiety phobia disorder. It is the fear a particular event or activity. A person can have a phobia of germs, bugs, driving, heights or any other situation or thing.

Over 19 million people are suffering from a specific anxiety phobia disorder. What is interesting, that it happens twice as often to women in comparising of men.Specific phobias often begin in childhood and can be caused by a traumatic event or is perceived as a traumatic experience.

Social phobias are another type of anxiety phobia disorder. Caused by certain situations that deal with social activities and performance. Also sometimes called a social anxiety disorder. more then 15 million people are affected by social phobias. Women and men are equally affected and it often start in childhood.

Social phobia is about being fearfull of being judged by someone else. Public speaking can can cause social phobia to feel tremors, nauseated, rapid heartbeat and begin to sweat more then normal. An example of an common fear is eating in front of people and fear they will choke or fear they cause a certain embarrassment.

There are afew who suffer from both specific and social phobias. They will go to great extremes avoid a social situation that will cause them anxiety. As with other mental disorders people suffering from anxiety phobia disorders will avoid seeking help.
