Hot Yoga

Hot Yoga is built on many of the poses and philosophies of Bikram Choudhury and Bishnu Ghosh, but incorporates different means ofentering into poses, as well as several variations so that practitioners of all abilities are able to experience the full benefits of the workout. His method of Hot Yoga is a set series of 26 yoga poses, including two pranayama exercises, each of which is performed twice in a single 90 minute class.

Yoga

Yoga, in general, is a spiritual practice or discipline that helps the individual unify his/her body, mind, and heart. Yoga is an exact science based on certain immutable Laws of Nature. Yoga is thus all-embracing, all-inclusive and universal in its application leading to all-round development of body, mind and soul. Yoga is control of mind and its modifications.

Karma Yoga

Karma Yoga is consecration of all actions and their fruits unto the Lord. Karma is the sum total of our acts, both in the present life and in the preceding births. Karma Yoga is the Yoga of action which purifies the heart and prepares the Antahkarana (the heart and the mind) for the reception of Divine Light or attainment if Knowledge of the Self. A man who is easily irritable and who can easily be offended for trifling things is absolutely unfit for the path of Karma Yoga.

Tantra Yoga

Tantra Yoga teaches us to identify the various factors that influence our thoughts and feelings and to transcend the obstacles to our evolution arising from ignorance, intolerance, attachment to our animal nature, and selfishness. Tantra Yoga asserts that desires are natural and that as long as we are embodied, we will have them. By means of physical and ritual cleaning, breathing exercises (pranayama), contemplation, visualization (of yantras and deities), repetition of a mantra (mantra japa), Tantra Yoga helps to unfold our divine nature.

Bhakti Yoga

Bhakti Yoga is the path of pure spiritual devotion, love and surrender. Bhakti Yoga is regarded as the most direct method to merge in cosmic consciousness. The "Chakras" book, which offers detailed information on all main yoga techniques and on chakra meditation, which involves all aspects of Ashtanga Yoga. In Bhakti yoga, everything is but a manifestation of the divine and all else is meaningless, including the Ego.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is a particular system of Yoga described by Yogi Swatmarama, a yogic sage of the 15th century in India, and compiler of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Hot Hatha Yoga is the physical form of yoga designed to bring balance and well-being into your life. Iyengar's method, a form of hatha yoga, is based on giving primacy to the physical alignment of the body in the poses. Later, with the rise of Hatha yoga, asana came to refer to all the "postures" Pranayama ("Lengthening Prana"): Prana, life force, or vital energy, particularly, the breath, "ayama", to lengthen or extend Pratyahara ("Abstraction"): Withdrawal of the sense organs from external objects.
