There may have been many wonderful opportunities knocking on your door, but if procrastinate them you can lose them. There are plenty of famous quotes out there about this issue to motivate people. Yet ironically the majority of people that say they are going to stop procrastinating put it off for another day!

"Oh, how I wish I could overcome procrastination! Somebody please help me stop procrastinating! But not today, I'm busy."

It is going to take serious work and plenty of dedication to change such a behavior though. Yet you deserve to break free from the chains that procrastinating brings to your life. You need to work hard to let go of all the negative energy that is associated with it. If you slip at times then just learn from it and keep working hard to make changes that are going to provide you with the positive sources of energy you can really benefit from.

We can be our own worst enemy at times, and you will definitely find this is true when it comes to the Law of Attraction. You are going to have to be honest with yourself and determine why you procrastinate. You need to then focus on changing those patterns of behavior and moving on from them. So what are you going to do when there is a problem on the road to your goals. Are you going to sit there and let things happen to you or are you going to find a positive solution so you can get past the hurdle?

For example consider a child who is going to a party. She may have anticipated it all day long. She gets ready early but then realizes there is something on the dress she picked out. She won't let it spoil her good time though. She has plenty of time to get the dress cleaned up or she will simply choose another one to wear. Another child may have waited until the very last minute to prepare for the party as they are a procrastinator. When they find that their dress has something on it they may end up very upset as they are not going to be late for the party.

What is the true factor behind your proscratination? Many people will soon discover that it has to do with the emotion of fear. They use procrastination to hide behind so they don't have to take any risk. They are so frozen by the thought of not succeeding that they never allow themselves the opportunity to try. This isn't something that you want to allow to happen to you though. That is simply feeding into the negative energy that is out there. Visualize yourself as succeeding and changes are you will.

It can be hard to move out of the comfort zone that procrastinating has offered you for so long though. You can do it, but you should be taking one small step at a time. Otherwise you risk becoming overwhelmed. This will result in you slipping back into your old habits even if you don't want to.

Do you often feel guilty after you have procrastinated? If so, you aren't alone but the point to focus on is how you are going to successfully change your behaviors. You need to let go of that negative energy and replace it with motivation and inspiration so you can generate positive energy as well.

Here are some great ways for you to start working on changing your habits that are known as procrastination:

1. Writing - If you write down your goals you will be able to visualize them. Place them on the refrigerator, a bulletin board, your bathroom mirror, or any other place where you are sure to see them all the time.

2. Don't be overwhelmed by the size of the task. Work to identify smaller pieces of the overall puzzle that you can reach for. Each one of these smaller accomplishments are going to motivate you to keep on reaching for more as well. The amount of positive energy that you can generate from this process is unbelievable. That first small goal can be the scariest one to reach for. Once you complete it though you will be excited to grasp the next one.

3.Just get started Fill yourself with positive energy to achieve the first stepping stone and get started straight away with the simplest and smallest of first steps. When you are procrastinating - simply ask yourself what's the first task? Take action on the smallest incremental item on that task. You'll be amazed at how quickly you will be inspired.

4. It is important to celebrate all of your small successes along the way. Take good care of yourself and pamper yourself. If you work hard then you deserve to have something in return for it. For those that really have a hard time with procrastination, you can attach certain goals to those pieces of the tasks you don't want to do. It will really help you to stay focused on completing it.

5. Don't be too hard on yourself - Too many people give up when they slip up, and that is a fatal mistake. You need to take responsibility for what happened and then move on from it. You need to get right back on the track and pick up where you left off. Don't let that experience zap you of the positive energy you have created either.
