Designing your marketing collaterals such as your poster printing like a professional is easy. All you need to have is knowledge of what you want for your marketing campaign.

You also need a few tips and strategies that can help you create the most effective design. Here are some of the ideas to help you have collaterals that you can give your poster printer that works hard to accomplish your goals:

For Image Resolution –

Resolution is measured by the number of squares of color information used in every inch. Too few and you end up with choppy and jagged images and graphics that are very hard to distinguish. Too many on the other hand can produce large file sizes that can take a while to upload. In addition, once you have uploaded your images, it still does not mean that your graphics have improved visual quality with a higher number of squares per inch.

Text and images should therefore work under a standard resolution for your poster printer to be able to produce the design you expect. For text, it should have 400dpi when you give your printer the final size in your layout. For the images, it is 300dpi.

You should also consider that resolution and the dimensions of your layout are inversely proportional. This means that when you make your images bigger, you should lower its resolution for better printing results. Your image therefore determines your resolution. If you want to have clearer and crisper images, you should look at resolution to control your size.

For Color –

When you look at color, always remember to design your layout with simplicity in mind. Clean lines, organized structure, few colors and less clutter should be the factors to determine better results when your poster printing for example get printed. This would ensure better and easier reading from your target clients. This would then mean more people understanding your messages and taking up your offer.

For background color, provide contrast between your color choices. Hence, choose wisely to avoid clashing among your hues and shades.

For White Space –

Provide your readers white space to breathe. White space is where you do not need any design on the space. It is the area that remains blank. In addition, although you do not put anything onto it, your white space provides the balance among your elements. It creates contrast, organizes your content, and accommodates your elements to provide your readers an easier time to take everything in, as well as help your readers to read and understand your message that quickly.

For Text Size –

It is also important to choose your text size wisely. Select typefaces and sizes depending on the design you have. Nevertheless, as always, keep everything clear and simple to avoid confusion and clutter in your layout.

These are just a few ideas you can dabble with when you do your poster printing for example. So go ahead and apply them now; and see the difference they make to your design and layout.
