Childhood Obesity Stats

All over the world, more children continue to suffer from the health problem of obesity. In all truth, the dangers of child obesity should encourage everyone to do all they can to curb it.

Don't think that because a child is obese he/she is dumb - many are actually smart and will understand why they should work to loose weight, if your explanation makes sense. Children who are obese more often than not either eat too much or eat the wrong food.

Fat and calories are present in the foods children eat. If you can get your children to eat only the kinds of food you want, their obesity problem can be a thing of the past.

Won't it be wonderful to have your children get involved in losing weight programs? Many overweight teens don't feel confident about themselves because of being overweight, but all these can change if you stick to your plan of getting rid of the excess weight for your children.

For the United States, here are the childhood obesity stats: about 16% of children aged 6 to 19 years are either overweight or obese. The childhood obesity bmi cut-off varies by age.

No one needs to teach anybody how to gain weight; for most people it comes naturally. Losing weight on the other hand is a feat that many find difficult to perform on their own. When faced with doctor's orders, they try out for a while, but many give up before they get there. Don't be like such people. It's very important to do all you can to lose weight, especially if you are concerned about your self confidence.

Literally thousands of overweight people live miserable lives because they have trouble losing weight. Most of them were born that way, but a significant few ate their ways into the condition. Shedding the pounds is now a problem that they have to deal with, and that is never easy.

When you work out to lose weight, be sure to keep you family physician in the picture. There are a few things you must not do; otherwise your quest for fitness might be cut short. Only the doctor can be clear with you on these, and you must stay within the limits of what they say.

You can shed your excess weight in a lot of ways. The gym, the spa, acupuncture, or even hypnosis. As far as you are concerned, you get to look and feel healthy. But question is - are you willing to get up and move towards losing weight? Only you can really answer that question.
