Typically the people who seek out self employment are naturally go-getters and are known by their peers to be creative in their thinking. But they are also the people who truly feel satisfied and proud at the end of a days work. So can we all feel that satisfaction and pride that comes from being your own boss? Of course not.
Not everyone is cut out to be self-employed, many are simply too comfortable working for someone else and do not want the stresses or responsibility that come with being their own boss.
Being your own boss means you must know how to find information on your own. Those who are self-employed must be able to gain leverage on themselves as well, and know when and how to use that leverage to motivate his or her self.
If you can motivate yourself properly then you are a huge leap closer than most to the success you desire. However, there is hope for the people who have trouble motivating themselves when times get tough, because that is most of us.
I am going to give you an example now of a way to look at this: At your previous job you worked hard, but what motivated you? Was it the pride in the finished product? Was it the numbers on the paycheck? Why didn't you just give up when you did not feel like working that day?
You used leverage to push yourself. You knew if you did not do what you needed to do then you would not find any more paychecks in the mail. You knew if you did not teach your students well they would not be successful in life. You knew if you took a breather because when your boss was not around someone would probably notice and you wouldn't get that promotion you have been shooting for. So on and so forth.
Use leverage over yourself to keep going. We all already have this skill, most just don't know how to apply it yet.
