Using The Cayenne Pepper Diet To Lose Weight

The cayenne pepper diet is used to rid toxins of your body as well as to help you lose weight quickly. This is an extremely challenging diet as you do not eat any food but simply drink specially made lemonade with cayenne pepper. This is a popular diet for celebrities though they even claim that it is very difficult.

While this may sound extreme there are many health benefits to be found from taking cayenne, besides the fact that you will rid your body of built up toxins. Cayenne pepper contains many minerals, antioxidants, vitamins and capsaicin. Capsaicin is a very active compound in the pepper and is only present in the seeds and stem of the pepper.

Capsaicin has many functions within the body besides making your tongue go on fire. Capsaicin helps boost your immune system, kills bacteria, helps with infections and germs, helps with blood circulation, increases your metabolism, and can reduce platelet stickiness. Cayenne pepper has been used for years in homeopathic treatments.

The main toxins that the cayenne pepper diet can eliminate include heavy metals, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, prescription drugs, hormones and other congestion in the body. Most of these toxins are naturally eliminated through the liver, kidneys and other organs but a build up can occur.

Because this diet is so difficult you will need to physically and mentally prepare your body. It is recommended that you eat a reduced diet a week in advance to prepare your body for the hunger pangs it will experience. Then you spend 10 days drinking the specially prepared lemonade followed with a post cleanse.

Once you have mentally and physically prepared yourself you will begin the diet by purchasing plenty of lemons, cayenne pepper powder, maple syrup and distilled water. A serving of the lemonade will consist of 1/10 teaspoon of cayenne powder 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup and 10 oz of distilled water.

While there are a few side effects to using the cayenne pepper diet they are mainly based around feeling hungry and detoxifying your body. Most individuals do suffer from hunger pangs and will have cravings that can be difficult to ignore and work through. If you normally drink a lot of caffeinated beverages then you may experience some caffeine withdrawal symptoms. Others feel a bit sore and itchy. This is due to your bodies getting rid of toxins in the system.

You should be warned that doctors and other health professionals do not recommend the cayenne pepper diet as the amount of calories you consume is far below what your body needs to function properly and you do not get any protein which your body needs. Additionally if you stay on the diet too long your stomach may stop passing food.
