If you are worrying about your digital wall clocks configuration, then worry no more, because it really is simple. You can configure a NTP digital clock from any telnet session. You can use your own PC to login to your network, find the device and begin configuration.
The accurate display is obtained from a NTP (network time protocol) or a SNTP (simple network time protocol). Both the NTP and SNTP can be Internet/Intranet based. If you give your digital wall clocks an IP address then they will automatically synchronize with that IP's time settings.
There are two different displays for the digital wall clocks. The first is four digits. Four digits will display hours and minutes only. The second is a six digit display. This will display hours, minutes and seconds. You can configure an Ethernet digital clock to work to EU daylight savings with the right commands.
The LED digital wall clock comes with four or six digit formats. The four digit LED clock units display hours and minutes. The six digit units display hours, minutes and seconds. Both the LED clock units have 4 inch high LED digits. These digits can be read easily even from far distance of 50m.
Most of these clocks will have PoE (power over Ethernet) so in the event of a power shortage you won't lose time. It also makes installation easier. The clock takes the power from a CAT5 network cable and doesn't need a mains outlet near it.
When your network segment is PoE enabled, it is just enough if you plug the digital clock onto your network which will power-up automatically. In case if your network is not PoE enabled, then a low-cost midspan-convertor is required which is nothing but a small power supply.
All of the digital clocks have different mounting options. You can mount them to a wall (there are holes pre drilled for this). Some companies even supply you with a wall mounting kit which will consist of a bracket and screws. They may also supply you with the option to purchase a suspended ceiling mount.
The digital wall clocks are wall mountable (although you can buy kits to make it more secure) or you can mount two clocks back to back. Each clock can be configured to a different time zone and can be adjusted to daylight savings. These clocks are extremely accurate and do not need monitoring by a person or any other software. Thanks to the great functions these clocks will update their time automatically.
