Pets bring joy and happiness to many people. They quickly become a member of the family making it difficult on family members when the pet passes away. Some people wish to have a pet memorial in honor of their beloved friend. Are there pet memorials and if so what are they? Pet memorials are objects or items that focus on preserving the memory of a lost one.

Pet memorials are not uncommon or unheard of. Memorials are not just for preserving the memories of people but can also be for pets as well. Pets are like family members and often treated the same. A pet memorial may sound ridiculous to some people but to others it is the only way to remember and honor their pet.

Pet memorials are commemorative pieces in honor of the pet. They can range anywhere from artwork to elaborate sculptures. Memories seem best preserved in the form of a memorial so people go to elaborate lengths when deciding the type and style of the memorial.

Some people can take pet memorials to the extreme. Some have gone as far as having their pet cremated and their ashes stored in a memorial urn. While others take the bodies of their deceased animals to a taxidermist in order to have, a statuette produced from the animal's corpse.

Some people love their pets very much; however, they do not feel it is necessary to go to extreme lengths to preserve their memory. The simple form of a pet memorial is sufficient in their eyes. Simple forms of memorials can include pictures or grave markers. Preserving memories of cherished pets is the goal; therefore, a memorial that is extravagant or simple can accomplish the goal.

Very few households do not have pets. Most people adore the companionship and loyalty a pet can offer. Pets are like people and cannot live forever even though we wish they could. Therefore, pet memorials are increasing in numbers.

You might think people are crazy or out of their mind to even consider having pet memorials but remember, you must respect others and their feelings. Pets bring joy and happiness to people and quickly become a part of the family. Losing a family member can be devastating and losing a pet can be equally devastating.

Pet memorials are a way for many to express love and gratitude for their beloved pet. These memorials can be simple or extravagant, but whichever type you choose it will symbolize the love for the pet and help to preserve the cherished memories.

"There's a site www.pawz2remember.com that has a great way to remember your lost pet. I really love my bracelet. It gives me a good feeling about Tippy everytime I wear it. I feel like even though she's gone, she is still with me. The necklace is a great way to keep her close, but dress it up a bit."
