How To Get Rid Of Panic And Anxiety Attacks

How do you feel when you have an anxiety attack? Well, your heart beats like a drum and your hands feel wet and clammy are a couple of clues. Worrying about such things as asking the boss for a raise, bullying co-workers and family problems are examples of issues that can cause stress. Stress is the normal way our body deals with the tensions of day-to-day life. It's when your worries and fears start to interfere with your daily life that you may want to take a closer look at yourself. This could be a sign that you are suffering from anxiety attacks.

Coping with Anxiety Attacks

By answering positively to the questions below, you could be suffering from anxiety disorder. When reading the questions, think of how you respond to fear.

1. Are you feeling that you are constantly worried, tense and irritated?

2. Does the symptoms of anxiety disorders get in the way of your job, responsibilities or studies?

3. Do you constantly have unfounded fears?

4. Worrying about your future constantly?

5. Fear, anger, apprehension, suffocation - do you have unexpected attacks of these?

By answering positively to any of these questions, you could be suffering from anxiety attacks.

When the anxiety or panic attacks begin, there doesn't seem to be a real identifiable trigger to cause them. They can happen quickly and last for a terrifying few minutes although it may seem like an hour. Many patients report that they have been under long periods of stress prior to the panic attack.

Anxiety and panic attacks have physical symptoms which can be as frightening as a heart attack with much of the same symptoms. They last for varied periods of time - from ten minutes to half an hour. Dealing with anxiety attacks can be seriously crippling to the patient involved no matter what the time period.

Stopping Panic Attacks

Everyone experiences stress at some point in their lives. But the important point to remember is to get your stress levels under control. Rule out medical conditions that can cause signs, symptoms of anxiety attacks by consulting with a medical professional. To evaluate your mental well being, you may want to consult with a psychologist. You may need treatment for anxiety disorder if your fears are taking over your life to the exclusion of everything else.
