If you are interested in starting a window cleaning business abseil window cleaners may find that they need a few specialized pieces of equipment to do so. But what do you need and how can you get started? Like any business it will take some time for you to build up your reputation and start getting the contract you want.

Since abseil window cleaning requires cleaning windows at very high heights, you will need lifting equipment to get you to the highest windows, and safety harnessing to keep you secure while you are up there. You need to be familiar with the range of different equipment and how they are used in order to demonstrate to potential employers that you can meet the challenges of any contract you are awarded.

The lifting equipment used will depend on the height of the window the cleaner is trying to reach. Often, cleaning companies will use a crane to reach the windows on a very high. Lower windows will often use a basket or cherry picker to let them reach the area they are cleaning. You may think that a cleaner can use a very long handled brush to reach windows, but this is not always the case. It can be hard to scrub a surface properly if you are not close enough to see what you are doing.

Many abseil cleaners will also use a platform on cables that you can use to raise and lower you from window to window. There are bosun's chairs as well that allow you to be suspended from a sling and move from window to window. You will want to make sure that any platform you use enables you to use safety harness as well. There are many times when the wind can be very strong at the top of some buildings and being able to stay secured is critical to prevent deadly falls from happening.

Abseil window cleaners need nerves of steel in order to be able to get up on tall buildings and clean the windows, especially when the winds are strong or the weather is not the best. They may also clean other surfaces on the outside of the building, including stone and brick exteriors. If you are interested in getting involved in an exciting career, you should be someone who is not afraid of heights, who can handle equipment such as scaffolding and lifting equipment, and who is able to do physical labor.

Abseiling is an interesting career. If you are interested in becoming an abseil window cleaner, you should contact maintenance and window cleaning companies in your area and see what their openings and requirements are.
