If you're currently attending college or about to enroll, you already know that a college education is an expensive proposition and getting more expensive all the time. However, there are many different sources of financial aid available for students, including some you may not have thought of.

Scholarships of all sorts are one option, usually requiring applicants to meet a specific set of criteria. The most common of these are a specific GPA, participation in athletics, being the child of active duty military personnel - the list goes on and on. There are also some scholarships which have more unusual requirements. For instance, there are even scholarships which are open only to left-handed students; it may sound strange, but these wacky scholarships may be another way to help pay for your college expenses.

Quite a few of these less well-known scholarships end up going unclaimed every year since very few people are even aware of their existence. While these scholarships may be somewhat strange, even downright bizarre, they're something which any student would do well to have a look at.

The most common ones are for the tall giants and the shorties. The Tall clubs International awards the scholarship of $1000. You need to be taller than 6'2" if male and over 5'8" if female. Then for the shorties the Billy Barty Foundation and The Little People of America offers scholarships to students. IF you are less than 4'10" then you do qualify.

Do people call you Fatty? You surely don't like being one! Everything is bad about being fat. Not when you are applying for scholarship. The National association to Advance fat Acceptance gives 2 merit based scholarships to NAAF members. Who thought being fat well be helpful? Weird Huh!

If this has boggled your mind, then you should know about these wacky scholarships. If you are a diehard star trek fan then you probably have collected the memoirs. All you need to do is just bring that. The Klingon Language institute offers $500 Kor memorial scholarship to one person simply to promote the language. And you don't need to know the Klingon language to win it.

These are just a few common traits which we normally see in people. There are many more wacky scholarships like just being a vegan can get you scholarship, or being an artist, or a caddie, having red colored hair and something you have never imagined.
