Mending a broken heart is not easy. It's an upward and downward scale of emotions. But once you get past through it, you're off to the next phase, and that's moving on. Either way will be beneficial to you. Develop your physique and vent off all that boxed emotions at the same time. It's a lot better than drowning yourself in sugar and alcohol.

If you spend all your time and devote all of your energy to positive things you will eventually push all the negativity out of your mind. If you haven't tried it now is the perfect opportunity to do so. You will find that as you learn to think and do positive things you will draw more positive results into your life.
Party your Sorrows Away
Go out and have fun! Enjoy yourself together with friends. Go hit the hottest clubs in town. Party like crazy. Just enjoy yourself. It totally helps if you surround yourself with friends and make new ones at the same time while you're at it.

Many couples find that when a relationship ends the friendships they enjoyed together are somewhat strained. This is more prevalent when you've been together for a long time and move around in the same social circle. This is a time when you need friends more than ever though.
In a relationship you usually have favorite places to hang out. It can be restaurants, parks, beaches or bars. Those places would usually remind you of certain events you had with your ex. Just avoid those places till you're over your ex. It would definitely speed up the process of forgetting the doomed relationship.
