For your
Feng Shui House, the directions in your home should be mapped out with the Feng Shui Ba-Gua. Based on those eight directions of the Ba-Gua, you would then use the Lo-Pan or Feng Shui compass to further dig into which of the five elements corresponds the best with these eight directions. Because each element has color associated with it, you can then decide on the colors that will help to provide good Chi in your environment.
Making use of the different Feng Shui colors is the easiest method for producing the different types of positive energy, which translate into marriage, health, prosperity and other things that are directed by Chi. When producing Chi, light is very important. As you learn more about Feng Shui House, you will discover how those elements relate to the eight directions outlined by the Feng Sui Ba-Gua map.
The five elements
Several colors embody the various natural elements. Various shades of these specific colors can be used in
Feng Shui House decorating.
- Wood element - Various shades of brown and green
- Water element - Blues and blacks
- Fire element - Red, orange, deep yellow and even angry, dark purple
- Earth element - Light yellow and brown along with sandy colors
- Metal element - White, silver, gray, and gold
There are two cycles that rule the five elements - the destructive cycle and the productive cycle. In the productive cycle, you will see the water element nourishing the wood element, which could then be used to create the fire element. Then the fire element burns, which brings about the earth element, which goes on to become the metal element and then the metal feeds back to the element of water. This cycle goes on just like the circle of life does.
How to Feng Shui your house with these element colors
The colors of these elements also represent and boost the likelihood of certain characteristics such as abundance, health and recognition. In addition, certain directions as pointed out by the Ba-Gua deal specifically with these elements of nature. For instance, the wood element has to do with the East and Southeast.
Feng Shui room is all about creating a flow of energy in the home or living area that is propitious. This means that you should use certain colors that go along with the elements of that particular direction. You will also discover that certain colors are naturally pleasing and may be used outside of their elements given that they are all part of the same cycle. Red is one example, the color of fire and an energizing Chi. If in Feng Shui House you have a configuration that is unfavorable, negative Chi can be turned around by the color red.
There are more complicated relationships between these elements and colors. The information provided here is the mere beginning to your Feng Shui House. Feng Shui design and it's complex nature are one of the main reasons why some people study for years to understand the core of these ancient Chinese Feng Shui principles.
