Women entrepreneurs usually think that in order to start a business, they will need to get a loan from the bank or even borrow money from friends and family. However, most women fail to realize that there are grants that can be gotten for your business.

If you are a minority woman planning on starting a business, you may want to consider looking into business grants for minority women. All companies need capital to start, and getting free money through grants can go a long way.

In order for you to apply for business grants for minority women, you must be Asian, Hispanic, or African American.

Many organizations offer business grants for minority women. The federal government is probably the biggest grantor. Non-profit organizations and businesses are also good places to go looking for grants.

Before you go out applying for business grants for minority women, you need to have a convincing business plan to show your grantors. Without a plan, they would have no reason to give you money.

If you are unsure about how to write a business plan, go online and look for examples. Hire a business consultant to help you work out a plan if need be. This not only helps you get grants but also lays the groundwork for starting your business.

Go to the government website to find grants. The website lists many grants so you will need to sift through them and find the ones that pertain to your cause.

Next contact local businesses and organizations that help women start businesses. They might provide grants. If not, they can at least give you some advice on how to start up your business.

Do not forget to contact your local government to find out if they have business grants for minority women. Local governments probably do not list their grants on the federal website so you should contact that separately.

When applying for business grants for minority women, you should apply to as many as you can find. The reason for this is that you may not get all the grants that you apply to, but the more you apply to the better your chances are of getting at least one grant.
