There is much going on in the world today. There are wars being fought and everywhere there is someone dieing a death of unnatural causes. What is happening to us? Are we going down a hill into despair or will we eventually come out of this alive? Many people believe the end is coming soon and a great deal of those people believe it is going to happen on the year 2012. There is a lot of hype about this particular year. It has people wondering of their fates. Even skeptics can sit dwn and wonder what is going to happen. Everyone is wondering if this the year we are truly doomed. Is "2012 doomsday or a new beginning" for all life on Earth?
Are we all going to die when the year 2012 rolls around? What is our punishment going to be this year? Are we going to be saved with a new way of thought? Who made these beliefs and do they hold any water?
The 2012 debate is not a young one at all. People have been speculating what is going to happen since the bronze age. The Maya were the ones to originally come up with a belief of what is going to happen. Not too long after did Nostradamus come up with a similar theory. These people got their assumptions from a variety of things including the stars and from using forms of divination. Do these really hold any water, you ask? Not particular would be your answer.
The main belief is that we are all going to die. We are all going to turn it dust or vanish into thin air. We are going to launch all of our nuclear warheads and cause the annihilation of our species. The belief is that we are doomed. There will be no life left to speak of and it is unavoidable on this year.
The second main belief is that it will be a death of human thought. By this I mean that all human beings will think in an enlightened way. N o one is v=certain how this will occur or how it will affect us but that is the belief.
Another belief that holds a lot of water is that nothing will happen. Maybe all of these people have been blowing smoke to scare everyone. It is a great way to get movies and books produced. If people are worried they will want to know more. So, this could just be a ploy for people's greed.
2012 has already caused an uproar with many people. A lot will be preparing themselves that year for the end. Many books and television shows have gained popularity because of 2012. Chances are this is how it will happen. The new year will come around. The psychos that believe the world will come to an end will rape and pillage everything. Then nothing will happen. Everyone will rejoice except for the people hurt by nothing but a few words spoken by an ancient civilization. That, or they could very well cause the end of the world they so believed would happen on its own. It could be a self-fulfilling prophecy. That would be irony.
That is most of what it is all about. So is 2012 doomsday or a new beginning? We don't know for certain. We will when the year comes around though.
