Have you decided what to get that "special someone" on your Christmas List this year? Are you going to wait till the last minute and get the "same ole' same ole'"? The good news is that there is still time to find that perfect gift. Let us help you out with some gift giving suggestions:
a) The Boy Scouts have a famous motto, "Always be prepared." While not all of us are boy scouts, we can still take this motto to heart. How you say? Whenever you are around that special someone, notice what they say and do. They will often give you clues and ideas and hints on what they would like to receive for Christmas this year. They might say:
"Hmmm...what a great idea."
"If only I could afford this."
"I could use this if it was in yellow."
Remember to write these comments down when you get a free minute. Comments such as these are gold mines for great gift giving...
b) Does that "special someone" have a favorite hobby or pastime? Do they enjoy following a particular sports team, or partake of a particular hobby? If so, there is often something that you can get them to help them enjoy their pastime all that more. The key is, what is it? Even if you are not an expert on their pastime, there is someone out there who is. You could call up your local hobby store, or perhaps post a question on an Internet forum. Ask them "what is the perfect gift for someone who enjoys "...fill in the blank..."? People love to talk about their hobbies, and I'm sure they would love to help you out.
c) Friends are a literal goldmine of information on people. You could always ask their closest friends for gift giving suggestions. Before you ask though, it's often a good idea to have some sample gift giving suggestions of your own. Why? If you pose this question to someone you will be putting them on the spot and they could draw a blank. By having some gift ideas of your own you will "jog their memory" a bit. Let's try an example. If you are going to ask your daughter's close friends for some gift suggestions, you could have some pictures that you have cut from an old catalog on potential gift ideas. Why the picture? Well, a picture is worth a thousand words, so it can spur on even more potential gift ideas. Her friends might be reminded of something she said would really like.
So, there you have it...three simple ideas on how to determine the perfect gift for someone on your Christmas List. If you would like more specifics on gift giving, and the latest "Hot Items" to get for Christmas this year, check out
