The motherlands of decorative paper lanterns are China and Japan. However, nowadays, they are admired by many and are a popular choice for many occasions. Decorative paper lanterns are made in China and are usually put on the ground or suspended. These lanterns differ in shape, found crafted in square, oval and many other forms. Presently, paper lanterns come in multiple colours suitable for any occasion, though traditionally they are white.
Chinese ornamental paper lanterns are generally placed on the ground or hung up after lighting them. These decorative lanterns vary in form and design. Traditionally these lanterns are white but they can now be seen in various colours. People use many lexis and maxims on lanterns to denote affections and send out messages. Generally, there are five types of Chinese paper lanterns in use now. The five groups are "tomato lights," "Buddha gastronomy," "crystal magic," "baby's bottom" and "rolling paper lanterns."
The first category is typically used to decorate festivals at shrines. Tomato lights are lanterns resembling huge balls. This type is generally coloured red, and rolling paper lamps are usually made in cylindrical shapes.Bars and restaurants use these types widely, while baby's bottom lanterns are usually popular as decorative lights at Christmas. These are somewhat smaller compared to other illuminative paper lanterns.
Rolling paper lanterns are similar, with tall cylindrical forms. They are often used to decorate bars and restaurants. Finally, baby's bottom lanterns are used widely as Christmas lights. They are considerably smaller than the other types of decorative lantern. Although Japanese paper lanterns are usually round in shape, other designs can be seen as well. Although red is also used, white is the traditional colour.
Since Chinese and Japanese people use various colours for their lanterns, there is no observable difference between the lanterns produced. Unlike in bygone days, illuminative paper lanterns can nowadays be seen with beautiful wordings at many happy events. Chinese letters are just like kanji letters, so people who are unfamiliar with kanji do not notice the difference.
Illuminative paper lanterns have come to be hugely popular as festive decor. Whether they are used internally or externally, decorative paper lanterns increase festive cheer and help to sooth your mind enhancing the festival or occasion you are at.
