Large dog toys are a must, especially if your dog doesn't have other canines to play with. They've got a lot of energy just collecting inside them that could end in misbehavior if you are not careful. Big dogs need just as much, if not more, attention than smaller breeds, so you are going to need a lot of toys to keep them happy.

Large dog toys need to be tougher and stronger than normal dog toys. Large breeds are always stronger than smaller ones, and toys that fit their size need to be able to take the abuse of being gnawed on by strong jaws.

A good toy to take a look at is The Chuckle. It's a noise making purple bone that any dog should have a lot of fun chewing and playing with. Both ends of the purple bone have inner-facing rubber prongs that allow for a neat trick: snack dispensing. Just put some treats or kibble in the prongs and while your dog plays with it, random food will pop out. It's made of natural rubber and is best for dogs twenty pounds or heavier, smaller dogs just won't be able to play with it.

The Huck Large is another toy that you should take a look at. Made from a unique material called Zogoflex, it's the kind of toy that will keep your dog on its toes. It's basically a ball with hefty weight and various grooves that cause it to bounce rather unpredictably. Just toss it and watch your dog go nuts and try to chase it down. This toy can also float, which is especially great if your pup loves to swim. The Huck Large is actually so tough that the manufacturers offer a full replacement guarantee.

The Hurley is yet another toy made out of Zogoflex, this time in a shape only reminiscent of a bone. It is said to have the fun of a bone and a ball, which makes it perfect for just about any dog. This toy can also float in the water, which is always a plus. This is a great choice for any dog who loves to gnaw, but also loves to play fetch.

Large dog toys are stocked in most pet stores. If there isn't one near your area, don't hesitate to check out the Internet for sites where you can order things. Amazon.com, as always, has a large selection. RRuffntuffdogtoys.com is another place to shop for those kinds of toys. Remember that you are trying to keep your pooch happy, and while some toys may not do well with your dog there is sure to be one out there for both of you.

More Information:

If you want your dog to keep from chewing up your shoes all day, or just want to see them happy, purchase a few large dog toys to get them wagging their tails.
