Statesville, N.C.--Fight back with a message! That's what Phyllis Benton did when she wrote her powerful and heart wrenching story of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. This compelling account of abuse is for those women who are afraid to come out of their won abuse situations.

Living Nightmares of Abuse is a painful story that at times will leave you numb. It chronicles the author's nightmares of constant sexual abuse. Growing up in Bass Harbor, Maine, Phyllis Benton found herself subjected to being molested as a child because of her promiscuous mother. As a child, her mother often brought into the family home a variety of men that would take advantage of Phyllis. Later on in her teenage years and living in foster homes, Phyllis became a victim once again to the same degrading and vulgar abuse practices.

Later in life as an adult, Phyllis, endured several abusive relationships. She began having great bouts of depression because of the disgust and hate she often felt about herself; almost committing suicide. A mysterious stranger came into her life. This stranger turned out to be her guardian angel, who helped Phyllis deal with her depression and emotional anxieties. Her angel came to love her. Phyllis married her guardian angel and is finally living happier than she ever had been!

In this emotionally charged story, Ms. Benton conveys the complete shame and guilt a woman endures through years of abuse, and how living with an abusive partner becomes a repeated practice when a woman does not get outside help. It is so very important that a woman in this type of situation not be afraid to tell others so she can get the emotional and mental support she needs to fight back.

I believe that everything happens for a reason. P.D. Benton
