Irritable bowel syndrome is a disorder of the gastrointestinal tract, causing pain in the abdomen, with either constipation or diarrhea, a feeling of still needing to go after already having a bowel movement, and bloating of the abdomen as well as other symptoms. Take note of what you are eating. It often takes between twelve and twenty four hours or more for a movement in the bowel. If you have pain before a movement it may be some type of food you have eaten which it does not agree with you. There is always the process of eliminating food from your diet that you may suspect is causing pain, bloating and giving you a sick feeling.

If a person is intolerant to gluten and wheat and has eaten something containing these things, a feeling of bloating occurs shortly after eating and tiredness some time later. To improve their feeling of wellness, gluten and wheat need eliminating from their diet.

Lactose intolerance is when a person cannot tolerate any products made from milk. This problem can be a cause of diarrhea and burning around the rectum after passing a movement, it is also a cause of pain in the abdomen. This can happen around twelve hours after any dairy products have been consumed. A suggestion of keeping away from large amounts of dairy is advised.

When the abdomen becomes bloated and there is pain in certain parts especially sharp pain, then a gentle kneading may be of help if it is done on the parts of the abdomen which have the most pain. This sometimes helps to move gas further along the effected area causing some relief in that part.

A good diet may be helpful. Various fresh fruit, steamed vegetables or vegetable or fruit juices and good quality meat may also help, especially with any malnutrition which may develop because of poor eating habits. Be aware of how your body reacts to any food and if it does not agree, eliminate it. You are the one who will suffer.

If you find your situation stressful and you are tired all the time then you may like to try vitamin and minerals. If you find any of them not agreeable then stop taking them and perhaps try something else. They have been known to boost energy and improve emotional feelings.
