Though he was raised in New York’s Queens Village, DJ Whoo Kid (a.k.a. Yves Mondesir) has maintained his Haitian roots. His mixes are infused with the influence from his hometown of Cap-Haitien. When he is not busy creating new mixtapes for release, he works on his video website called RadioPlanet.tv and hosts a Sirius/XM Radio show. With a nickname of “The Mixtape King,” DJ Whoo Kid mixtapes will never disappoint.
Working in the genres of soul and hip hop has served this disc jockey well over the 15 years he has been in the business. He is associated with 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Wyclef Jean, Eminem, and other major industry players. His discography includes hosted mixtapes with legendary artists like Jay-Z, Lil’ Kim, Chamillionaire, and Young Buck.
Being a protégé of Eminem has definitely helped this artist reach epic heights in his career. It allowed him to sign on with both G-Unit Records and its subsidiary, Shady Ville Entertainment. At only 38 years old, he is already well-known when it comes to hip hop beats, producing, and related projects.
