Aquariums - Peace And Freedom For Your Soul

Aquariums are pretty much the same as terrariums, just for fish or turtles instead of insects or other terrestrial animals. There are many easy fish races to keep, most of them looking brilliant in the right light. You can sometimes just watch the fishes swimming around for hours, allowing you to relax and adding some inner freedom to you and your soul. But aquariums also create some work – We've collected the most important information and summed it up to a small but informative article.

For the beginning, make sure to buy a book that tells you what you have to specifically look at – There are many things you have to watch out at, especially the "mix" of different fish races and the size of the aquarium. Always remember that it's an animal that you're looking forward to keep in your house, exactly like a dog or cat – It should be provided with suitable living conditions and not just swim in a small glass bowl without any plants for 5 years. I've already mentioned another 2 points here: The size as well as the plants you're looking forward to use: Make sure you have a big enough aquarium. Anything less than 112 liters (one of the standard sizes) isn't enough for most fishes, even if the seller in the supermarket tells you something different (most companies are sadly only looking for profit). Then make sure to collect the right plants, this is a point where most sellers in aquarium shops are pretty helpful (I don't say all have no clue of what they're doing, but there are some). Last but not least, note that you have you change at least 1/5 of the water inside the aquarium each week, in order to obtain a healthy atmosphere for your fishes. You'll also need to clean the pump regularly, so it has enough power to clean the rest of the aquarium – And you'll of course have to feed your animals regularly.

If you clearly read and understood the points I've mentioned, there's not much you can do wrong any longer. Though a complete guide would just be too long for a single article, therefore it's best to once again read through some books either at the library or buy one at a shop. Note that there are also a few forums with aquarium and animals fans sitting around, always looking forward to answer your unique question!
