The tension that produces inside you is not something new. Everyone applying for some kind of exam has some worrying thoughts and butterflies in their stomach, especially during the exam. Scary as it may appear, examination fear to some degree helps us perform to the best of our skills. A rush of adrenaline in a nervous situation helps us to remain alert and focused. However, if you let too much anxiety to overtake you, then it can have reverse effects on you. Too much panic can leave you in a negative frame of mind which can lead you to panic and as a result you can lack in your exam performance. You can replace these with optimistic and encouraging feelings after some cognizant effort. Just make yourself realize that it's all part of anxiety and can't damage you in the real sense. Calm down and stay focused and believe that it's going to be fine and surely you can defeat this phenomenon.

To some people wearing objects, associated with another person or place, works as a lucky mascot. You can also apply the very same plan. The object will make you think about the person or place which makes you experience good. After enjoying a few minutes of a calming effect, you can begin to concentrate on the exam.

Another technique involves thought hindering in which you vigorously cast out all pessimistic thoughts from your mind by continuously reminding yourself to stop.

You will see it for yourself that once you are effectively able to stop these unconstructive thoughts, your brain will be free to concentrate on the matter at hand in an effective way.
