A NYC Chiropractor Explains Kinesiology Muscle Testing by describing how diagnosing and treating weakness or imbalance in the muscular system is achieved without guesswork. Kinesiology is defined as the study of anatomy relative to human movement mechanics. Muscle Study is defined as the study of the body's movement.
Dr. Lou Granirer practices holistic chiropractic techniques and has a great deal of Kinesiology Muscle Testing expertise. The following information is his description of this diagnostic tool. Dr. Granirer states that Kinesiology muscle testing is designed to diagnose symptoms based on the idea that the "... Body knows what's wrong with it. A healing treatment is created by testing muscle strength and response."
The test is designed to demonstrate and measure energy according to the muscular response between specific anatomical points. The nervous system is the body's control and communication system and all muscles and organs are respond to it and are controlled by it. Electrical and chemical signals, which are sent to and from the brain via the nervous system and the spinal cord, control the body's energy.
Healthy, strong muscles resist interference between themselves and the other systems of our body. (The term "resistance training" may come to mind.) A muscle will be weak due to interference between it and its electrical signals or messages. This muscle study diagnostic tool can challenge muscle strength anywhere in the body.
It will challenge and demonstrate the balance of energy between an access-point and a muscle, or group of muscles, for instance, in the route from the fingers to the deltoid muscles. Access-points, also known as "points of contact" or "reflex- points," are connected to specific muscles, organs and organ systems. The studied practitioner will determine an access-point by assessing the patient's symptoms or complaints. When pressure is applied to an access-point, a specific "circuit" is created from that point to and from a corresponding muscle.
A strong response will indicate that the muscle's connection to, or circuit within, the nervous (neuromuscular) system connection is strong. A weak response will indicate a circuit that is shorting out, in a manner of speaking. When the nerve-to-muscle connection is weak, there is indication of a weakened balance of energy. If this is the finding, the practitioner will begin a process of selecting the best remedy to restore balance to that area of the neuromuscular system.
That treatment, or remedy, will strengthen, support and restore the energy balance in the circuit between the access point and the muscle. Different remedies will be tested, using the same kinesiology muscle tests which had diagnosed the problem, until the correct agent is found to restore maximum strength to that connection - in other words, until a "match" is found.
The methods used in this type of test eliminate any guesswork in diagnoses and treatments. The best homeopathic, botanical or nutritional treatments will be designed specifically, accurately and to achieve the most personalized management for each individual patient.
