Then again, you might want to read the entire story before you make any final decisions.

If that is what you are looking for then you will want to strongly consider seeing Madame Butterfly. This has become the opera that is seen the most often throughout North America. Therefore, it will be very easy to find others that have seen this opera. That means that you can have wonderful conversations with friends and family about what you thought.
Books and the Internet can be wonderful resources as you try to decide what you want to see, when and where. You can search any opera that you want and spend some time reading about it. You might be amazed to find out some of the history that is related to the different operas, the people that wrote them, and what the public once thought about them. However, you may also be very intrigued by many of the wonderful stories that actually exist within the operas that you are considering seeing.
It can be a really big decision when you are trying to decide what you would like to see. Just remember that the opera is an art, and it can be very difficult for the performers to learn their parts and put on a good show for you. Even when you may be confused, or have a hard time understanding, it is still a talent that cannot be matched by anything else.
