Pet rabbits are just like stuffed bunny rabbits in appearance, but they can not be handled in the same manner. It can be really difficult to handle and care for just one single rabbit. They definitely require a big and spacious cage, water to drink, and something or another to eat. Cleaning the cage once a week is enough for the rabbit. Actually, it will not be tough to maintain a healthy pet rabbit but will definitely be tough when it comes to an unhealthy rabbit.

Proper diet for the pet rabbit!

The most important thing to give priority to is the proper diet of the pet rabbits. Just give a little time in feeding the right diet to your animal, and it will pay off for a long time period. This will assure you that your pet will remain active, healthy, disease free, and will live for about 10 to 15 years of age.

These rabbits are fully herbivores. Thus, their primary diet includes leaves, hay and grass. The wild species, also, loves to have seasonal fruits and flowers. There must be sufficient hay inside the rabbit cage. There are 2 different forms of hay. These are legumes and grass. The hay should never be damp and dull. Other good options in diet are celery, cabbage, broccoli, and spinach leaves. You can occasionally feed your pet rabbits sweet berries, papaya, pear, peach, or pineapple. The special treats can also consist of edible flowers like lilies and roses.

If you give a proper diet to your pet rabbits and allow them to exercise well, you will never need to visit a veterinarian. In case your pet is behaving abnormally you should see a qualified veterinarian as soon as possible. Use the wide range of information available online to learn about specific needs of your pet.
