A lot of Eczema creams and lotions use oatmeal as their primary ingredient. Most of these products claim to be all-natural and promise to heal Eczema gently. If you look close enough, you would see that not even half of these of products are all-natural. Most of them rely on parabens, sulfates and other additives to relieve dry and itchy skin. Oatmeal is a great Eczema remedy, but these additives and chemicals spoil its natural goodness.
Unfortunately, the only way to be certain your skin receives the most natural care is by creating your own Eczema cream. This should not be so difficult to do, as most components are already available in your house or at the food market. Oatmeal-based skincare items are easy to duplicate in your own kitchen. When used in combination with an efficient moisturizer, oatmeal Eczema creams can certainly heal your skin in a short while.
For a natural alternative to facial Eczema creams, mix equal parts oatmeal and honey and apply to your skin. For best results, allow the mixture to dry for a few minutes before rinsing completely. Honey has antibacterial components that keep skin infections at bay. You may also use this on dishydrotic Eczema rashes.
Complement your oatmeal Eczema cream with an equally effective oatmeal bath. Blend uncooked oatmeal in a food processor until a powdery consistency is achieved. Mix powdered oatmeal in water to check if it dissolves completely. Pour this slowly over your bath water, making sure there are no clumps or sediments at the bottom. Try to limit your bath time to 15 minutes, as excessive soaking in water aggravates rashes.
Exfoliating prepares your skin, so it can absorb the Eczema cream better. You can make an exfoliating oatmeal facial mask by combining oatmeal with egg whites. Wait until the egg white has dried completely before rinsing your face. Use a soft towel to absorb excess moisture. You may now use the oatmeal Eczema cream that you prepared a while ago.
