Video game reviews are something that a lot of people depend on when it comes to deciding whether or not to buy one but what happens if you read a great review but when you buy the game you realize that it is actually not that good. Maybe you wonder what could have been going on with the person to write such praise for a piece of junk - are these people on hard drugs. Believe it or not the game that the person wrote the review about may be something that he, or she has never even played.
You may be further shocked when I tell you that the manufacturer of the game could well have paid this reviewer to write the review. You may think that this is very underhand and sly, but it is quite often done these days, and that is why we need to be very careful when it comes to video game reviews.
Basing your decision about a video game on one review is something that you just shouldn't do. The only time you should even consider this is if you already know a little bit about the game or if the person who gave the review is someone you trust.
Reviews really are subjective because you could read a great review from one of the top gaming sites, but you could still find the game a bit rubbish. We all have different opinions and this means that what one person likes might not necessarily appeal to someone else.
Video game reviews can be really helpful but only to a certain extent. Some of them will be written by people with their own agenda and others will be written by people who might not have the same tastes and likes as you. Having a look through quite a number of reviews is something that you should do before making your mind up about a video game. It is more likely that you will enjoy the game if you find that most of the reviews have something positive to say.
