A well-dressed, well-kept appearance is greatly appreciated by the females who answered this survey. Women expressed that a clean-shaven man wearing a nice set of clothes was preferable to a messy or sloppy appearance. They like to dress well and expect their men to look nice too.
As with many women, they look for an industrious streak in their men. While the degree of success in life is relative, the respondents stated that they do not appreciated a lazy man. Words like enthusiastic and ambitious were mentioned as being desirable traits in a man. Russian women are looking for a well-rounded person who has friends, who enjoys their career, and takes pride in keeping their body healthy.
Men who exaggerate their standing in the community and in their financial state are considered to be the worst of any liars. Lying is never appreciated, but in when it comes to status, women had little room for forgiveness. Obviously this type of lie occurs early on in the relationship and can carry the basis of distrust in the man's capability to tell the truth.
Women in this survey expressed the lack of respect from men as a particularly unsavory characteristic in a partner. Being treated as a sex object instead of person of worth was irritating to many women. Disrespect was also explained as being lied to, being cheated on, and being spoken about in a derogatory way when a woman was not present.
There seems to be little compromise when it comes to cheating in Russia. Women looked for punishments or flat out terminating the relationship if they found that their man had cheated on them. There was little difference in this feeling if the man had committed an emotional dalliance as opposed to a sexual fling.
While men who exhibit a bit of self-centeredness and arrogance can use these traits to excel in many areas of business and a social life, an abundance of either was found to be unwelcome in this survey. Women may find that both of these traits are part of a sense of confidence that is attractive in moderated amounts. However, both are regarded as undesirable when applied in the extreme.
Talking about sex early in the relationship did not impress women. They thought this type of behavior from men made them appear as though they were perverts and came across as a bit scary. Many of the women said that they needed more time to get to know a man before they were comfortable to talk about a sexual relationship. If sex was mentioned early and numerous times, the women felt that was the only reason the man wanted to be with them.
While not scientific, this survey reveals that a Russian wife is like many women of the world. The women who responded to this survey want to be valued as a person and not a sex object. Another insight that was revealed is that women desire the respect and common courtesy that should be extended to everyone, regardless of gender.
