E-commerce not only has had a huge impact upon the fashion industry but is set to bear an increasing influence in years to come. As soon as you go on to a fashion commerce Website, you are asked to part with your email address to be assured that you receive emails featuring all upcoming offers and soon after you have signed up to receive offers from all of your favourite brands, you will potentially receive email after email prompting you to make a purchase without you even having to leave your home. Social networks operate in the same way with feeds from these brands interspersing with friend status updates.

Online fashion sales have continued to expand and even for those who just love to window shop, it allows for a more efficient experience. If you're planning to go on a fashion shopping spree but the rain is falling just a little too hard, there is always the Internet to make life that much easier. You can avoid driving in circles trying in vain to locate a parking space and being pushed out of the way by fellow shoppers with over-sized shopping bags.

The shopping experience online is continually increasing its level of efficiency as technology too improves. This makes it likely that those who shop online will have more reasons to continue to do so and perhaps even more so and those who were hesitant left with a far lesser argument to make.

Men too have caught on to the more efficient method of buying through e-boutiques. Man were never too keen on high street shopping anyway and this medium, it could be argued, is more suited to them. It is certainly less expensive, and there are a wide range of fashions available to them.

So with this evident influence, how will the high street survive in terms of so many fashion brands appearing so frequently. Well, there may always be a need for that particular medium, but there is little doubt that it has lost much of its power to e-commerce.
