Planning your wedding guest list should not have to be a huge ordeal, but to some couples, it can become a headache. People cost money, yet you and your fiance want to be able to invite everybody from family, to coworkers and high school pals to witness your special day. This, with parental input can put you in a very sticky situation and lead to some explosive arguments along the way.
People cost money, but you want to be able to share your special day with those that are truly important to you. Here are a few ways to reduce the amount of battles you and your fiance have over the guest list while keeping everyone happy (well, mostly everyone...you can't please everyone, you know...).
First set your target number of guests and plan to be able to invite 10-20% more than that number. Not everybody will be able to attend your wedding. Once you have a number in mind, do your best to stick to it. This is where the battles begin!
Be respectful, don't question every person on the guest list and remember that some of the people you are inviting may be questioned as well. You may have never met that person, but there is a reason your fiance is inviting them, so respect it.
Your guest list should not be such a battle that you call your wedding off all together and most definitely should not break the bank. Be respectful, set limits and stick to them and you and your fiance should be able to get through one of the biggest decisions of your wedding planning!
