The latest MacBook Pro could be considered as a technological wonder, because it successfully marries elegant design with top-of-the-line performance. It has fueled the evolution of modern laptops with the gold standard that it set in performance, functionality, and design. It is still one of, if not the leading laptop of the present; but will it continue to be in the future?
With the emergence of high end laptops by other leading brands, Apple is pressured to keep up and stay in the lead. Nowadays, more and more laptops are equipped with new processors, capable of competing with MacBook Pro's own. Dual core is now just a basic component of a regular laptop, as high-end computers are getting the quad core upgrade. This is perhaps why a new MacBook Pro will be released sometime this 2011.
Why is Apple going to release a New MacBook Pro? Why not just stick with the current one? Well to be honest, there is no big reason. The hitch is, rival competitors just keep improving, maybe because Apple has forced them to try harder, or it could be out of jealousy with the previous MacBook Pros. Nowadays, Intel i5s and i7s are found in the majority of laptops, as they attempt to move forward and leave dual core behind them. These processors were previously available only with the MacBook Pro, so it is safe to assume that the competition is really catching up. It is because of this, there are rumors that a massive amount of the new MacBook Pro's will be available to buy this year. This will allow Apple to hold their favorite position: ahead of the crowd and leading the market.
According to some rumors, the design won't really have much change, since it owns up to its aluminum unibody design. Even though some laptops seem to sport a similar design, an aluminum unibody would always be associated with Apple's MacBook Pro. The performance of the device, however, is something that they can't really own. As more and more laptops get the boost from new processors, there's no other choice for the new MacBook Pro but to go up. This Apple powerhouse would be equipped with the latest Mac OS X Lion, and would be using the best AMD graphics for its high end MacBook Pros.
With the new MacBook Pro, Apple has only one thing in mind: to stay at the top, and remain as the best laptop there is. Whatever upgrades it may get, you can only expect it to trump over the existing laptops, because with the rest of the competition getting upgrades, there's no other place for the new MacBook Pro to go, but up.
