We have been using mobile phones for quite a few years now, but most of us are still not getting the most from them. If you want to be sure you are getting more from your mobile phone, then the following do's and don'ts should help.
- Try not to cover most of your mobile phone with your hand during a phone call. The reason for this is that you are likely blocking the signal and this will reduce the quality of the communication; it will also mean that your phone will have to transmit stronger radiation in order to deal with calls. When you are making calls on your mobile phone, you should make sure that you only hold it at the bottom.
- Do use a hands free mobile phone when driving. Studies have shown that it is worse to use a mobile phone when you are driving than to drive when drunk. Make sure that you never ever text anyone when you are driving or engage in social media.
- Your mobile phone is not something that you should be using when you are in a hospital. This is because the signal for your phone can interfere with certain medical equipment such as ECG machines. Mobile phones should always be switched off when you are going in to a hospital.
- When you find that your mobile has a strong signal, you should make your calls then. By doing this you are reducing the amount of power that is needed to make the call, and it should also mean that less radiation is produced.
- If you have an old mobile phone then don't just leave it lying around to gather dust. If you don't want it you should consider selling it or giving it to somebody who could put it to use. It is such a shame when people leave a perfectly good mobile phone lying around in a drawer.
