Your
NCLEX tests are offered through the NCSBN or the State Boards of Nursing. It is required for you to be a nursing professional that is licensed. There are some different versions such as the PN or RN. Here is a bit of information and things you might need to know.
To get registered for the
NCLEX test, you have to turn in your application to become licensed to your state board, and must meet all of their criteria before you apply. You can register for the test itself online at the Pearson Vue site, call the toll free phone number and pay over the phone or mail your registration that is sent from your state board of nursing along with payment.
You will be offered different testing days and times. It is important to be ready for your test on the scheduled day, as no refunds are offered if you miss the date. There are a few things to remember when you arrive to take your test.
You should arrive about a half an hour early to the testing site to get registered. Take in your authorization to test form and your state issued ID. There is nothing else such as a purse or coat that is allowed into the room with you, so lockers are normally available in the hallway.
You need to be ready to offer a palm vein and finger prints taken to enter along with your photo at the site. You are required to do such in order to enter and take the test. If you do not wish to do this, a test will not be offered.
There are a total of six hours offered to take the NCLEX test for
NCLEX RN and five hours for the test for NCLEX PN. You are given a break after two testing hours and this counts toward the total time of testing allowed. For information on what is on the test, order practice questions from the site.
